Hostility in the Workplace=Hurt Lives

The job environment can be more challenging in dealing with the other personalities than the job itself. Many times in my pasted career paths that have even included working in a State Prison, I can relate. I usually had more problems with the other personalities of people I worked with than the inmates that were the criminals in the prison!

We can make light of certain situations in the workplace; however, some do not deserve that kind of joking around. When a person is being bullied, discriminated against or talked down to, among other unprofessional dealings, this is clearly not a laughing matter. This only creates the employer unnecessary expense in disability claims, lawsuits, loss time at work, and a ruined reputation.

As the amount of jobs become less available in our current recession an increase in stress in the workplace will also be caused by layoffs, more responsibility, less budgets for raises, and individuals bringing their own personal stresses to the workplace. Constructive and positive uses of communication are essential in maintaining and achieving the success of the company or organization. In addition, having training available to management and employers in managing stress, anger, improving communication, and improving empathy can give the staff at the company/organization valuable skills in dealing with difficult situations. Improving customer service and better able to communicate with their co-workers in working as a team.

At Positive Solutions Anger Management and Executive Coaching, we can assist companies/organizations in providing trainings to staff as well as Executive Coaching for individuals. We are available to assist on location.
